What is Auto-Job Creation?

Auto-Job Creation is an automated job-generation feature that creates multiple related jobs under a specific project using pre-defined execution templates. Instead of manually creating each job one by one, users trigger this action inside a project to automatically create all required jobs, calculated schedules, dependencies, and user assignments based on the project’s category (e.g., Installation, Sales, Contract Services).

How Is It Beneficial?

Generates entire multi-step job schedules in a single click to save significant time.
Ensures every job under a specific project category follows the exact same setting and quality standards.
Calculates relative job start dates, end dates, and durations automatically using project start dates or preceding job end dates.
Automatically links dependent tasks so field staff carry out work in the correctly.

How To It Setup?

Go to Company Settings > Automation Settings > Job Settings.

In the Automated Job Creation Setting page, configure templates for each Project Category (such as Installation or Sales):

Enable System Flags.

Must Attach Asset from Project: Enforces linking project assets directly to newly created jobs.
Must Assign Project User(s): Automatically assigns team members linked to the project directly to the generated jobs.

Configure Template Rows:

Add a Template Row: Click on the button to add a new row.
Begin & After: Sets when a job starts relative to another milestone (e.g., 0 days after Project Start Date or 1 day after Previous Job End Date).
Duration: Specifies the number of days allocated for the job.
Category & Status: Sets the specific job category (e.g., Sales Meeting, Maintenance) and default starting status (e.g., In Progress, Needing Attention).
Description & Assign User: Pre-populates job descriptions and default assigned users.
Automation: Attaches automated triggers, such as Job Overdue or Job Expiring alerts.
Blocked By: Selects the prerequisite job that must finish before this job can begin (supports Finish-to-Start flow). Note that this requires the Premium Project Gantt Chart feature.
Lock by Dependency: Toggles execution restrictions on the blocked job until its prerequisite task is finished. Note that this requires the Premium Project Gantt Chart feature. Here are the dependency lock states:
- Locked: Completely freezes the job. Users cannot edit job details, update statuses, or post comments until the blocking job is marked completed.
- Unlocked: Allows users to view and edit job details, but blocks changing the status to Completed until the prerequisite job is finished.

Click Save this category button to save the set-up for that specific project category.

How To Execute?

Jobs are not created automatically upon project creation; they are triggered manually on demand within the target project:

Open the Project Details page for your target project.
Click the options menu in the top right corner and select Auto-Job Creation.

Review the job list on the Automate Job Creation page (which displays pre-calculated start/end dates, assigned assets, job categories, and team members).

Click the Create Job button in the top right corner to generate all listed jobs within the project.

Project Gantt Chart Related Settings (Premium Feature)

Once created, all auto-scheduled jobs map directly to the Project Gantt Chart. While basic views track standard timelines, the Premium Feature unlocks active workflow control across your projects:

Shift job dates, extend durations, and resolve schedule overlaps directly on the timeline view.
Automatically recalibrate downstream job dates whenever connected prerequisite tasks are moved or updated.
View locked dependency states, identify workflow bottlenecks, and monitor critical paths in real-time.
